ID
I lost my wallet the other day. I couldn't find my passport and had no way to prove who I was. It got me thinking how screwed you are if you lose all your picture IDs. You can't cash checks, get a driver's liscense, library card or do anything that requires photo proof of who you are; it's like you don't exist. Fortunately, I found my passport. I went straight to the DMV and got my drivers liscense and an extra identification card for the bargain price of $5. I have now put it in a safe place (not in my purse!). My new wallet is strangely empty, just the basics: DL, debit card, insurance card and on occasion, cash. I miss my old wallet. I lost a picture of my late father that cannot be replaced and various business cards and numbers that I have to track down now. I guess the lesson in this is don't carry your life in your wallet. You never know what you might lose. Now go out and enjoy this gorgeous weather!

My First Blog Ever
Hello out there in cyberspace! I'm a "woman of a certain age" that decided to get divorced, lose a job and move (about 5 or 6 times) all in one year. Ok. I admit I went a little crazy but I'm scratching my way back. This is a first of what I hope to be of many firsts. I'll be discussing challenges, thoughts, advice and other various and sundry things as I reinvent myself. I hope you will find something useful here and visit often. By the way "flutterby" was the original word for butterfly. I thought it suited me while I awake from my cocoon and learn to fly.
